Despite being very similar in technical terms, the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas and the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport have a number of Unique traits that make them different
The Atlas Cross Sport is more stylish
The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport builds upon the elegant and refined style of the Atlas in order to achieve a more unique and distinctive look that is also more dynamic. This is done by lowering the roofline and angling the rear glass into a more horizontal position that conveys a feeling of speed even when the vehicle is stopped. This is also why the Atlas Cross Sport looks longer and more streamlined despite actually being shorter by 132 millimetres than the Atlas.
The Atlas is more practical
The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas uses its more traditional roofline to offer more cargo space and more generous headroom for every passenger. Speaking of passengers, the Atlas comes standard with a third row of seats which bring its capacity to six or seven passengers depending on the version chosen. The Atlas Cross Sport is not available with a third row so it can only carry 5 people. In terms of cargo, the Atlas is again the winner, with up to 2,741 liters of space with all of the seats folded versus 2,203 liters in the Atlas Cross Sport. Even if this figure is lower than the Atlas, the Cross Sport is still one of the most capacious two row SUVs in its size category.
Both models have their own colour options
The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas and the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport both offer varying paint and upholstery options that allow each to be personalized differently. The two models share the same paint colours with the exception of Pure Grey, which is exclusive to the Atlas Cross Sport. Other exclusives of this model are the Cinnamon and Dark Burgundy interior colour schemes. The Atlas replaces these two interior options by its own exclusives: Mauro Brown and Shetland.
